Life is a ball of stress! Frfr! And it can be hard to focus and keep a daily routine. Simple things like washing dishes, doing laundry, or exercising can be tough. But everyone doesn't keep a stock pile of trusty inspirational quotes to get through. And even if you did, some days are harder than others. So what do you do?
The power to inspire is in all of us. We just have to choose to use it. Being an inspiration to others doesn't take much effort. It simply begins with character. You don't have to be famous, or have a lot of money, you don't have to be a supermodel or fashionista to inspire. People draw more inspiration from the way you carry yourself and your interaction with others, rather than the things you are surrounded with.
There are quite a few things to be learned from military training. Outside of respect, time management, and focus - you learn to muster up the smallest drop of inspiration so you don't quit. It teaches you to persevere. You are who you surround yourself with... you know... birds of a feather?
Find reasons to have faith in people, whoever they are. Listen to them and let them know you believe they can achieve whatever goals they set. Learn the things they care about, their goals in life, inspire them. Show them you care by the way you treat and interact with them.
Raise the bar, expect more from your friends and family. Push them to their limits, encourage them to be better, see what they are capable of. Challenge yourself, go beyond your comfort zone. Try new things, confront the obstacles you haven't faced. This will increase the faith in yourself, making you stronger - maybe strong enough to reach a hand to someone else.
Give credit where it is due! There's no reason to hog the recognition for yourself. I mean, unless you did it all, share the wealth. When you share in someone else's successes, people will want to follow. Let your actions inspire them to dream more, learn more, and become more. Speak truth, avoid gossip, and do the right thing.
Now before you go turn Captain and try to save everybody - be honest with yourself about who you are, but most importantly - who you are not! Know your strengths and don't be afraid of your weaknesses. Real people inspire people. Be human, mistakes are forgivable if you admit them. One of the best ways to inspire others is to live that life yourself!
